Psychoanalysis and psychotherapy are helpful to people with various issues – about life, relationships, conflicts, trauma, loss, grief, emotions, and many more. Additionally, psychoanalysis and psychotherapy are ways to help one to understand themselves.
There is an I within me, deep, deeper than I.
It is very important to understand oneself in order to change one's life or to solve problems. People create their own lives with their own selections, thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Without making any difference in these areas personally, it is very difficult for one to change his/her own fate.
The reason to start therapy does not matter, but it may be a good idea to start. This reason may be relational problems, mobbing in job, feeling sad or lonely, losing control, having anger bursts, feeling overwhelmed or locked etc. Losing vitality and feeling disconnected from life or people, may be cleared or eased by psychotherapy and psychoanalysis.
Traumatic past experiences may interfere with one’s life today. Former experiences with other people are recorded unconsciously and they are played out automatically in current situations. It is not easy to understand these automatic thoughts and feelings which interfere with current relationships. People have little control over these automatic reactions which result in troubled relationships.
When feelings or thoughts are not understood and used productively as signals, they may lead you to have destructive actions, and even inaction or inept action. In this case, seeking therapy makes sense.
Psychoanalysis and psychotherapy are long journeys to inner life, and the psychotherapist is an experienced fellow traveler during this period. Every person has their own way, and each way is unique and different from others. The therapist might be experienced in these roads, but each time is a new and different experience for them as well.
